# Change Password

Sets a new password for the authenticated user. Returns `204 No Content` on success. Limited to 6 requests per minute.

**current\_password** `string` *required*

The user's current password. An account without a password (`has_password: false` on the user) cannot change it here and sets its first one in the web portal.

**password** `string` *required*

The new password. At least 8 characters.

**password\_confirmation** `string` *required*

The new password again. Must match `password`.

## Errors

A `422` names the field that failed: `current_password` when it is missing or wrong, `password` when the new password is too short or the confirmation does not match.
