# SolarEdge

> Add SolarEdge ONE EV Chargers from their sticker: the phone sets them up over Bluetooth.

Link sets up a SolarEdge ONE EV Charger from the sticker on the charger (and on the cover of its manual). The phone reaches the charger over Bluetooth, shows how it connects to the internet (and connects it to Wi-Fi when needed), and points it at Plugchoice. Your user stays near the charger while it's set up.

| Models | ONE EV Charger and ONE EV Charger Pro |
| Onboarding method | `local_ble` (or `manual_ocpp`, by hand) |
| What the phone needs | `ble` |
| Network setup | Yes, by reconnecting it (`reconnect` has `network: true` and `needs` `ble`) |
| In a browser | Yes, in Chrome and Edge (Web Bluetooth) |

## Adding a charger

<Steps>
  <Step title="The sticker">
    The sticker's QR code has the charger's serial number and PIN. Your user scans it, or types the serial number (as printed above the QR code, such as `S612344-012345678-90`) and the PIN instead. The serial number gives the charger's Chargepoint ID, so Plugchoice registers the charger before the phone reaches it.

    <Screen name="solaredge-sticker" alt="Scan the charger's sticker: the scanned charger, with Continue" />
  </Step>

  <Step title="The setup">
    The phone finds the charger over Bluetooth and signs in with the PIN. Link reads which backoffice the charger uses, then shows how the charger connects: Ethernet, Wi-Fi or mobile, as the model has them. The charger uses one of them, and your user can choose which; with Wi-Fi it switches to mobile when the signal is too weak. The charger doesn't report whether its Ethernet cable is in, so Link shows Ethernet as in use or not. Your user can also set up Wi-Fi by picking a network from the charger's own scan (or typing one) and entering its password. Nothing changes unless they do. They continue once one connection is up, and Link points the charger at Plugchoice with a password of its own.

What to know:

* **The current operator comes along.** When the charger used another OCPP backoffice, it stays the charger's operator, with Plugchoice connected alongside. When it used none, your user is asked whether it keeps one.
* **SolarEdge stays connected.** SolarEdge's own backoffice keeps getting the charger's messages through Plugchoice, so the SolarEdge app keeps working.
* **The charger is locked to Plugchoice.** Link gives the charger a new OCPP password, and Plugchoice only accepts the charger with it.
* **The right sticker.** The charger checks the serial number and the PIN. A wrong PIN or another charger's sticker sends your user back to scan it again.

## Reconnecting it, or changing its network

The `reconnect` action gets a SolarEdge that's already on Plugchoice reaching Plugchoice again, or moves it to another Wi-Fi network. Your user scans the sticker of that charger and sees its connections, where they can give it another Wi-Fi. Link checks that the charger points at Plugchoice, and points it there again when it doesn't, keeping the password Plugchoice knows. It imports nothing again.

## What your app needs

* **iOS**: `NSBluetoothAlwaysUsageDescription`, and the camera for the sticker (`NSCameraUsageDescription`). See [iOS](/sdk/ios).
* **Android**: `BLUETOOTH_SCAN` and `BLUETOOTH_CONNECT`. Scanning the sticker needs no camera permission. See [Android](/sdk/android).
* **React Native**: the config plugin sets them up. See [React Native](/sdk/react-native).

In a browser without Bluetooth (Safari, Firefox), Link offers setting the charger up [by hand](/sdk/chargers/other) instead.
