# Test and live

> Build against test credentials with real chargers, then switch to live.

Your integration starts in **test** mode while you build, and Plugchoice switches it to **live** when your app goes out.

| | Test | Live |
| - | - | - |
| Client secrets | `cs_test_…` | `cs_live_…` |
| The hosted flow | Shows a **Test mode** badge | No badge |
| Chargers | Real chargers, really connected to Plugchoice | Real chargers, really connected to Plugchoice |

There is no sandbox: a test integration runs on Plugchoice's production systems, in your integration's own team, so you test with a real charger next to you. Everything else, from the SDK API to the hosted flow, works the same in both. Plugchoice users' own link sessions are always live.

## Get test credentials

Email [support@plugchoice.com](mailto:support@plugchoice.com) with:

* your company and your app,
* what you want to use the SDK for,
* your name, logo, accent colour and privacy policy URL for the consent screen ([Consent and branding](/sdk/concepts/consent-and-branding)),
* the URLs to send users back to, if you'll open Link in a browser ([In a browser](/sdk/web)).

You get a client ID and secret for test. See [SDK API](/sdk/api#authentication) for how to use them.

## Go live

When your integration works in test, email [support@plugchoice.com](mailto:support@plugchoice.com) to go live. Plugchoice switches your integration to live: from then on its client secrets start with `cs_live_` and the **Test mode** badge goes. Nothing in your app changes.
