# pincode-invalid

> The charger's identity and pincode don't match.

## Where you see it

Only inside the hosted flow, which handles it. You don't need to handle it in your app or on your server.

## What it means

Either the Chargepoint ID or the pincode is wrong. A Volt Time identity that doesn't exist is a typo, so it gets the same answer.

After too many failed attempts every attempt gets this answer for a while.

Your user sees "The identity and pincode do not match" and can change what they typed.

## What to do

Nothing.
