# start-code-invalid

> A start link that doesn't start a setup.

| Status | Title |
| - | - |
| `404` | This start link does not work |

## Where you see it

* **In a browser**, when someone opens your start link (`https://connect.plugchoice.com/start/<code>`). They see that the link doesn't work and that they should ask you for a new one.

## What it means

The code is unknown, or you made a new start link or turned it off on your SDK page, which stops the old one at once. It also happens when the integration can't start a setup right now: it was switched off, its team has no access to the Plugchoice SDK, or Plugchoice hasn't reviewed your partner profile.

## What to do

* Check the link on your SDK page and hand out the one shown there.
* After you make a new start link, replace the old one wherever you handed it out, including printed QR codes.
* If the SDK page shows the right link and it still fails, contact Plugchoice support.

## Example

```json theme={null}
{
  "type": "https://developer.plugchoice.com/sdk/errors/start-code-invalid",
  "title": "This start link does not work",
  "status": 404,
  "code": "start-code-invalid",
  "detail": "The code was replaced or turned off, or its partner cannot start a setup right now. Ask the partner for a new link."
}
