# Reduxi

> Add a Reduxi P1 Ultra from its label: the phone joins the reader's own hotspot and points it at Plugchoice.

Link sets up a Reduxi P1 Ultra from the label on it. The phone joins the reader's own Wi-Fi hotspot, points it at Plugchoice, and gives it the home Wi-Fi. Your user stays near the meter cupboard while it's set up.

| Models | P1 Ultra (firmware 1.0.24 or later) |
| Onboarding method | `local_hotspot` |

| In a browser | No |

## Adding a meter reader

**1. The label**

The label has a QR code with the reader's unit ID and password. Your user scans it, or types both. Link registers the meter reader with Plugchoice while the phone still has internet.

**2. The setup**

The phone joins the reader's hotspot (`P1WiFi` and the last four characters of the unit ID); your user taps **Join** when the phone asks. Link checks that the reader is the one on the label, finds which smart meter it's on, and points it at Plugchoice.

**3. Its Wi-Fi**

Link lists the networks the reader can see, and your user picks theirs and types its password. The reader uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. It restarts onto that network, and the phone returns to its own.

**4. The first readings**

Link waits until the reader's readings reach Plugchoice, then asks for the main fuse when the site has no load balancing yet.

What to know:

* **A sign-in page may open.** On iPhones, joining the reader's hotspot can open the reader's own sign-in page. Your user closes it; Link does the setup.
* **No internet during the setup.** The phone is on the reader's hotspot for part of it, which has no internet. The SDK keeps the hosted flow working, and keeps the screen awake.
* **A reader set up before** is set up again the same way, for example after a new router. Every setup gives it a new login to Plugchoice, so the old one stops working.

## What your app needs

* **iOS**: the Hotspot Configuration and Access Wi-Fi Information entitlements, and `NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription`. See [iOS](/sdk/ios).
* **Android**: nothing extra. The reader's setup is plain HTTP, which Link sends over the SDK's own TCP connection, so your network security configuration doesn't need to allow it. See [Android](/sdk/android).
* **React Native**: the config plugin sets up iOS. See [React Native](/sdk/react-native).
