Scan to Pay
Turn any charger into ad-hoc revenue. Drivers scan a QR code or open a link, pay by card, and start charging. No app or account needed. Run the guided setup for payouts and pricing, print a sticker, and you’re live. This is rolling out to early-access teams first.Power Management directory
Manage load from a new Directory view alongside the topology diagram: triage chargers by status, drag to reorder groups, set current limits and charge modes per connector, and rename branches. Clearing a limit back to No limit now sticks reliably.Energy map
See where your network is drawing power. The new Energy map rolls up usage by Dutch and Belgian postcode zones (and by country elsewhere), with a time scrubber and per-zone power density.Onboarding refresh
New workspaces answer a short company profile (personal or business use, your role and goals, and optional colleague auto-join from your email domain), so setup matches how you actually work.UK Octopus Agile pricing
UK locations can follow Octopus Agile dynamic tariffs by region, so Smart Charging uses the right half-hourly prices.White-label branding
Partners get a sharper white-label experience: your brand name surfaces across the app, plugchoice.io subdomains need no DNS setup, and sidebar contrast and dark mode readability are improved.Quality-of-life improvements
- State of Charge graphs on transaction details, and live kW on active connectors.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay for Scan to Pay when wallet verification completes.
- Manual map pins when an address can’t be placed automatically.
- Charger diagnostics show a product image and a clearer connectors layout.
- CTEK NANOGRID file management, and a socket lock toggle for One Business and Zaptec chargers.
- Zaptec Go/Go2 autostart now uses the charger’s native FreeCharging config.
- Richer charger list filters (location, model, firmware) and bulk commands from a location’s charger list.
- A banner when your payout account needs attention during getting started.
- Sticky table headers, a two-hour grace period before auto firmware updates, and softer ERE notices when MID status is unknown.
- Peak shaving handles single-phase connectors correctly, and self-healing no longer reboots chargers for routine faults.
Reimbursement
Employers can now reimburse employees for charging at home. Set a per-kWh rate, share an invite link, and employees connect their payout details in a few steps. Plugchoice handles the payouts and generates reimbursement invoices automatically. This is rolling out to early-access teams first.Passkeys and a new Security page
Sign in without a password. You can now register a passkey and use Sign in with a passkey on the login screen, backed by Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware key. Two-factor authentication and passkeys now live together on a single Security settings page.More languages
The language selector now includes Spanish and Chinese, alongside the existing options.Quality-of-life improvements
- A new Employees shortcut in the team sidebar gets you to your people faster.
- Team owners can now edit their team’s email address.
- The location power-usage chart now reports three-phase sessions correctly. Previously it could under-report by a factor of three.
- Skipping a setup step now shows a friendly confirmation instead of an error screen.
A fresh new look
The dashboard, navigation, and core flows have been refreshed with a cleaner, more cohesive visual style. Charts, cards, and forms feel more consistent across the app.Integrations
We’ve launched a new integrations area that connects Plugchoice to partner platforms. The first available integration is ERE: operators in the Netherlands can connect or disconnect the partnership in a few clicks.Bulk commands
Send commands like restart or unlock to many chargers at once. Pick chargers from the list (or select everything matching your current filters), choose the command, and watch a live progress page as each charger reports back. Failed chargers can be retried in one click. The same flow is available as a public API.Per-team charger names
Chargers can now have a different name per team, useful when the same charger is shared between an installer, a site manager, and an end customer. Each team sees the name that makes sense to them, including in transaction lists.Onboarding checklist
New teams are guided through an onboarding checklist that walks them through the essentials: adding chargers, setting up billing, inviting teammates, and more. The billing step now recovers gracefully if the connection to Stripe is interrupted.Smarter power management
- Per-connector current limit: cap an individual connector at a maximum amperage. Any unused capacity is automatically shared with the other connectors.
- Chargee smart meters now fall back gracefully and show clearer error messages when the meter is unreachable.
- Power usage updates more reliably during long, steady charging sessions, with less chatter between the cloud and your chargers.
Dashboard upgrades
- A time range selector above the dashboard charts lets you zoom into any window.
- Transaction charts use a time-proportional x-axis with synced cursors across charts so it’s easier to line things up.
- A new team-wide transactions table rolls up sessions across all your locations.
- The installations chart can be filtered and grouped by charger model, with a richer tooltip.
- Slow dashboard queries have been optimized, and the dashboard map now fills its container on every screen size.
CSV exports
We’ve rolled out a new CSV export experience. Charger logs are first, with more to follow. Exports are now served via the Plugchoice CDN, and transaction exports no longer miss sessions that span the start or end of the selected period.Cards
Cards can now be restricted to specific chargers within a location, giving owners finer control over where each card is allowed to start a session.API
- New GetCompositeSchedule endpoint for retrieving a charger’s currently active charging schedule.
- New bulk command endpoints for fanning out commands across many chargers.
- You can now pass a team identifier when creating a location, so external systems can target the right team in one call.
Service alerts
Offline alerts now auto-close when a charger comes back online, and resolution is slightly delayed to avoid flapping when chargers briefly drop their connection.Partner program
- The monthly partner payout job has been replaced with a manual pay flow, giving operators full control over when payouts go out.
- Partner payout invoices now show VAT and are properly linked to the matching transfer.
- Self-billing partner invoices come with a 30-day due date.
- Whitelabel partners get fully branded invite and verify-email messages, with consistent header and footer styling.
- Whitelabel UI elements are properly hidden when a team isn’t part of a partner program.
Tariffs
- Dynamic tariffs are rounded to whole cents to avoid sub-cent display quirks.
- The ENTSO-E fallback for the Netherlands has been removed to prevent price mismatches with the official source.
A little fun
We celebrated King’s Day with a festive overlay for non-whitelabel teams on April 26 and 27, complete with falling tompoucen.Quality-of-life improvements
- Auto-closed transactions now record their final meter reading so reports balance.
- Inviting someone to a brand-new team no longer creates duplicate teams.
- The Joined on column for team members reflects the actual join date.
- Log filters accept multiple values, making it easier to narrow down by status or charger.
- Dashboard elements no longer get clipped on laptop-sized screens.
- Improved load-management resilience when transactions start or stop mid-session.
Service alerts
Stay on top of charger issues without constantly checking the dashboard. The new service alerts system proactively notifies you when chargers need attention, whether it’s a connectivity problem, a failed session, or a hardware fault. You’ll find alerts in the sidebar with a live badge count so nothing slips through the cracks.Roaming with OCPI
We’ve started building the foundation for OCPI roaming, the open protocol that lets charging networks interoperate. This release lays the groundwork with core protocol support including peer registration, token exchange, CDR settlement, and session logging. While this isn’t available to use yet, it paves the way for full roaming interoperability with other networks and self-billing capabilities in future releases.Automatic firmware updates
No more manually pushing firmware to each charger. You can now enable automatic firmware updates so chargers stay on the latest version without intervention. The system skips chargers that are actively charging and handles offline devices gracefully.Smart charging improvements
The minimum current setting is now exposed per connector, giving you finer control over load balancing. We also fixed peak shaving to correctly display values in kW instead of amperes, and added a safety net that prevents connector max amperage from exceeding the charger’s rated current.Billing updates
Teams using pay-as-you-go can now see their usage directly on the billing page. We also improved transaction billing to correctly handle retrieved (resumed) transactions and exclude non-MID chargers from metered billing, ensuring accurate invoices.Custom domains
White-label operators get a smoother experience with improved custom domain support: better setup flows and more reliable DNS verification.Password reset flow
The password reset process now includes a confirmation screen after successfully changing your password, so you’re never left wondering if it actually worked.Quality-of-life improvements
- Team switch prompt on empty states: if you land on an empty page, we’ll suggest switching to a team that has data.
- Charger serial numbers are now visible and toggleable in the data explorer.
- ENTSO-E tariff timeouts are handled gracefully so dynamic pricing never blocks a session.
- SIM sync failures no longer cause errors. Connectivity issues are retried silently.
