What each brand can do
Volt Time
One, One Business, Source 2s and other models, by serial number and pincode. Wi-Fi over Bluetooth for the One, One Business and Source 2s. Works in a browser.
Zaptec
Sign in to the owner’s Zaptec account, and Plugchoice switches the installation over. Works in a browser.
Alfen
Eve Single and Eve Double Pro-line, from their flyer, over the home network or the charger’s setup hotspot. Needs your app.
Peblar
From the charger’s card, over its own hotspot. Needs your app.
Other OCPP chargers
Any charger that speaks OCPP 1.6, by hand. Works in a browser.
- While adding, it connects a Peblar, or a Volt Time One, One Business or Source 2s that isn’t online yet, to Wi-Fi. For a Peblar or Source 2s it also shows whether the charger is on Ethernet, Wi-Fi or mobile.
- Later, it changes the Wi-Fi of a Volt Time One, One Business or Source 2s.
- Electrical setup: it applies the setup of Volt Time and Alfen chargers, and of some other brands.
- Every charger can be reconnected (
reconnect). - Zaptec, Alfen and Peblar chargers can also be set up by hand, as other OCPP chargers are. Link offers both ways when the phone can do the brand’s own setup, and only the manual one when it can’t.
- Transports are what the phone or browser can do. The SDK has all of them when your app is set up as its platform guide says (iOS, Android, React Native). A browser has none of them, except Bluetooth (
ble) in Chrome and Edge.
These tables are a guide. Before you show a button for an action, read the charger’s
capabilities from the SDK API and compare their needs with what the device can do. Devices and capabilities shows how.Skip the brand picker
When you already know the brand, setvendor on the client session: volttime, zaptec, alfen, peblar or other. Link then starts at that brand’s models. To leave out a way of adding chargers, list the ones you allow in methods: local_hotspot (Peblar), local_lan (Alfen), vendor_cloud (Zaptec) and manual_ocpp (by hand).
